Announcing the Winners of ADC 2

Back in May at Google I/O, we announced ADC 2 -- the second Android Developer Challenge -- to encourage the development of cool apps that delight mobile users. We received many interesting and high-quality applications -- everything from exciting arcade games to nifty productivity utilities. We also saw apps that took advantage of openness of Android to enhance system behavior at a deep level to provide users with a greater degree of customization and utility.

ADC 2 Public Judging is now closed

Thanks to tens of thousands of Android users around the world who participated in the review of ADC 2 finalist applications, we have now collected sufficient scores to complete Round 2 of public judging.

We are reviewing the final results and will announce the top winners this coming Monday, November 30. Thanks to all who've participated in ADC 2 and good luck to all the finalists.

Google Maps mit GPS Navigation für Android 1.6

Google hat sich entschlossen seine Maps Navigation Software für Android 1.6 herauszugeben. Es steht ab sofort im Marketplace zum Download bereit.

Mit Google Maps Navigation bietet Google eine kostenlose Navigationslösung inklusive Sprachausgabe an. Zudem unterstützt die Software auch Google Streetview zum Anzeigen der Route.

Acer A1

Ende des Monats erscheint in England das Acer A1. Das Handy besitzt einen Qualcomm Snapdragon Prozessor, welcher 1 GHz Taktfrequenz unterstützt. Acer taktet ihn in seinem Gerät aber auf 768 MHz. Es wird mit Android 1.6 ausgeliefert. Wann und ob ein Update für 2.0 kommt ist noch nicht gekannt.

Das Handy kann für 349,99 € (exkl. Versandkosten) bei Expansys bestellt werden. Aktuell ist die Lieferzeit für Deutschland 18 Tage.

Android 2.0 auch für T-Mobile G1

T-Mobile USA hat angekündigt auch für das T-Mobile G1 ein Update auf Android 2.0 zu veröffentlichen.
Das sind doch mal gute Neuigkeiten.
Allerdings wurde noch kein Termin genannt, wann das Update erscheinen wird.

Motorola Milestone mit Android 2.0 ab Montag bei o2

Das Motorola Milestone - erstmals mit Android 2.0 - ist ab Montag (16. November ) zu einem Preis von 481 Euro bei o2 erhältlich. Über O2 My Handy kann es nach Anzahlung von einem Euro 24 Monate lang mit je 20 Euro zu Null Prozent Zinsen abbezahlt werden.

Mini 3 - Dell mit eigenem Android-Smartphone

Dell hat angekündigt das Android-Smartphone Mini 3 in Brasilien und China auf den Markt zu bringen. Ob und wann das Mini 3 auch in Deutschland verfügbar sein wird ist noch nicht bekannt.
Näheres ist bisher noch nicht bekannt, aber das Mini 3 soll noch dieses Jahr mit Android 2.0 auf den Markt kommen.

HTC Sync 2.0.8 für HTC Hero, HTC Tattoo und HTC Magic

Die Android Synchronisations-Software HTC Sync ist nun in Version 2.0.8 für das HTC Magic, HTC Tattoo und HTC Hero erschienen.

1. Bei der Synchronisatione von Kontakten werden zu den Kontak-Informationen nun auch die Kontaktbilder synchronisiert
