Wieder mal neue Gerüchte gibt es um ein Firmware-Update für das G1 und Co. auf Android 2.1.

Wie androidandme berichtet, soll für das G1, MyTouch und weitere Anroid-Smartphones in den USA - noch im 2. Quartal 2010 ein Firmware-Update auf Android 2.1 erscheinen.

Google Earth App für Android 2.1 - auch für Motorola Milestone

Im Android Market ist ab sofort für alle Android-Smartphones mit Android OS 2.1 Google Earth verfügbar.
So ist Google Earth für das Nexus One verfügbar - schade, dass mindestens Android 2.1 benötigt wird, aber es wird wohl auch ein leistungsfähiger Prozessor benötigt.

Seit heute ist im Android Market Google Maps 4.0 erhältlich.
Neu sind personalisierte Vorschläge unde die Integration von Google Buzz.
Buzz ist die neue social stream - Funktion von Google, die in Konkurrenz zu Twitter und Facebook treten soll. Buzz ist direkt in Gmail iintegriert und ist sehr nahe an die Funktionalität von Google Wave angelehnt.

With the introduction of live wallpapers in Android 2.1, users can now enjoy richer, animated, interactive backgrounds on their home screen. A live wallpaper is very similar to a normal Android application and has access to all the facilities of the platform: SGL (2D drawing), OpenGL (3D drawing), GPS, accelerometers, network access, etc. The live wallpapers included on Nexus One demonstrate the use of some of these APIs to create fun and interesting user experiences.
